We arrived at sound advice right after they opened the gates. The first band didn’t start till 12:45 on the second stage and I only wanted to see MSI on the second stage, who went on last anyway, so we just walked around. I got a shit load of merch as all my old band shirts have disappeared. I also got a new school bag. Tis MCR and very pretty. I also was lucky enough to get a new hoodie as some bitch stole my old MCR one in 8th grade. (I’m not bitter…) Anyway because we were wondering around and I forgot about times I missed MSI. Come to think of it Tori prolly would have died so maybe it was for the best.
It rained for a good half hour hard and I was soaked. It was all good except for the soggy socks.
We walked around even more and when the seats opened we went and watched Julian K. They were really great even though I didn’t know any of their songs. Still very fun to watch.
So after their set I was digging through my bag for my phone and I catch a glance at my watch. Its five o’clock aka Placebo time. I look up just in time to see Steve and Stefan come out on stage. When Brian came out Tori looked at me like ‘That’s it!? That’s him…!?” It was rather funny. I was the only one in my row who knew any of the songs except meds. It wasn’t all that amusing. So set list, in the order I remember it.
*Every You Every Me
*Because I Want You
*Special K
*Meds
* Nancy Boy
*The Bitter End
* Taste in Men
The kid next to me during Nancy Boy had the O_O face the whole time and after their set he turns to me and says “I thought the singer was a girl!?” Anyway, Placebo was amazing. Then after the set all three of them did a signing. The signing went very smooth and I was lucky enough to get a poster and the art book signed. After that we had about three minutes to run back to the seats to see Taking Back Sunday.
Fred and Mark weren’t there so they had fill ins. Adam’s voice was better then it had been on LiveEarth and he was funny as always. Matt played to the crowd and Eddy stayed in the back. I love seeing them live, they’re just a really good live band. Set list in the order I remember it:
*What’s it feel like to be a Ghost
*A Decade Under The Influence
* Liar
* Set Phasers To Stun
* Cute without the E
* Your So Last Summer
*Makedamnsure
After that I lost a good five minutes fuckin with my phone and I have royally fucked it up. I give up trying to fix it and we go eat and then run back again for MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE! I cannot express how much I love this band. What they have done for me is amazing. I’m not ashamed to admit that they’ve saved my life/gotten me past rough times like no one else. Gerard was amazing that night. In truth they all were. Ray was on my side of the stage and he’s always fun to watch. Frankie straddled Gerard’s head and Bob. Bob is god. Gerard had a feather boa during mama. He also did a little dance and shook his ass…and giggled while doing it.
Someone in the pit had a sign that saud ‘Happy three years sober” on it and Gerard pulled it up and said that tomorrow it would be three years and he was really touched. It was so sweet. He put it at the back of the stage and every once in a while would glance at it.
